50 Things

Paige sent out a challenge to come up with 50 things about my husband. I thought it would be a hard thing to do, but it was pretty simple.

It thought that that was a perfect way to record all the wonderful things about him.

He doesn’t know that I wrote this so I hope it goes over well.

1. David was born in Utah
2. He moved to Californiaat the age of five and lived there until 6 years ago
3. He is the oldest of two
4. He is the only boy
5. He and his sister look a lot alike and had a great relationship growing up.
6. David’s sister, Marion, lives less that ½ mile away
7. He is 33, but he still gets carded for being 18
8. David went to an all boys Catholic school in high school- he really enjoyed it.
9. David loves history, and has said that he would have perused a history degree if he knew he could get a job in the field.
10. David graduated Magna Cum Laude from UC- Riverside with a bachelors’ degree in Economics.
11. David was National President of the Children of the American Revolution (CAR) when he was 20.
12. We meet in the same organization (CAR)
13. He served a two year mission for our church on the French Islands of the Caribbean
14. He speaks French
15. He is an Eagle scout
16. David and I meet when he was home for only 5 months.
17. He proposed on our first date, and we were married 5 months later
18. David never wore Jeans when I meet him. It was always kakis and a polo shirt
19. He still won’t wear jean shorts, but has really relaxed a lot.
20. He loves to travel, and surprised me with a trip to France and Switzerland for our honeymoon
21. He loves to read
22. He loves to have everything clean and organized.
23. He has a cousin with the same name ( it can get really confusing)
24. He has been an investor for over 20 years
25. David built our house for the ground up without previous construction experience
26. David recently went through a career change
27. He now works as a Mortgage Consultant, helping people achieve their dreams
28. He never had a ‘real’ fulltime job until he came home from his mission
29. He worked in pest control until we got married and moved south.
30. He is not a big sports fan (thank goodness), and he only really watches the big showdowns
31. He is a big tennis player, and enjoys watching matches
32. He loves the history channel and can sit for hours watching it, but we don’t have cable so he only watches it when we are at a hotel or a hospital.
33. David love spicy food and can eat peppers alone.
34. He is the ultimate ‘Mr. Fix-IT’- he can figure out how to build or fix anything around the house.
35. David loves to talk- during our long-distance engagement it was hard to get him off the phone.
36. He is a great husband and father.
37. His favorite color is green
38. His favorite holiday is Halloween (candy and dress-up what could be better)
39. He is a very hard worker
40. He loves to eat strange foods, and loves to try new things (totally my opposite)
41. He is a finance guru; he has everything recorded and loves to show me my spending habits in a pie cart.
42. David loves the snow, and often wishes that we got more snow here.
43. He loves to ski. He taught Kate to ski and will be teaching Maddie this season
44. He works with the 11 year old boy scouts at our church. It is great because he loves do many of the same things as them
45. He likes to play video games- It relaxes him
46. David is a very good public speaker
47. He never does any job half way.
48. He is extremely good at remembering to write ‘thank-you’ note (I cannot say the same)
49. He is learning to golf
50. He is six years and three months (exactly) older than I am, but doesn’t look it.
51. He loves his two daughters and is determined to make them into tomboys
52. He is very motivated to give our kids the best education, and is eager to teach them new things.

His New Baby!!!

Now, before you get to excited we are not expecting a baby, but David did get is wish when at long last he got his dream car. I know what you are thinking. He is too young for a mid-life crisis.

Well, this is how it happened. We sold his truck 5 months ago and since then he has been searching for that perfect car (with only one car for us to share- nightmare!!!).

Last week we went through the haggling and barganing and finally found the right car at the right price (and low milage)! It was perfect.

So here it is our Porsche 911. It drives like a race car, feels like a sports car, and I'm going to be in trouble with this one:)
